Dockett Eddy Lane Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Dumpster41: Goods to get out on my bike again for some lockdown exercise. Over 20 miles cycled and over 20 maintenance visits.

This one causes me too much maintenance time, I like the hide, but it is not cacher proof, so gets mishandled too often. Time for it to go.

Happy Hunting

Geocache Description:

I have always thought this is is an interesting road name.

As far as I can tell from internet research the name comes from a  small island upstream of Sheepperton lock, which was called Dog Ait, but this became corrupted at some point into "Dockett" and gave its name to Dockett Eddy Lane. Dog Ait is shown on 19th century Ordnance Survey maps (1883, 1896) as being the previous name for Pharaoh's Island.

Vertically challennged cacher may need a friend or their own tool.
