Pinchot Cabin, constructed in the 1930s, was part of the cabin loop trail system that connected a series of fire watch cabins used by the Forest Service. The best access for the cabin and the cache are from the parking area for the Houston Brothers Trail on Forest Road 95. Distance, one way, from the trailhead to GZ is approximately 0.3 miles.
