Welcome to Western Australia's brand new Skywalk,
The highly anticipated Kalbarri Skywalk officially opened in June 2020.
Located in the spectacluar Kalbarri National Park, the skywalk consists of two 100m-high skywalks with a connecting boardwalk between them. The structures jut out 25m and 17m beyond the rim of the Murchison River Gorge and 100m above the Gorge at one of its highest points – breathtaking views and not for the faint hearted.
For the Nanda Traditional Owners, the facility shows their art ,culture and stories through various interpretive elements that have been incorporated in the design of the project including the play areas and the walkway leading to the platforms. Visitors are welcomed with an entry sign stating 'kaju yatka', these are the Nanda words for 'sky' and 'to walk.'
Kalbarri National Park is in its self an iconic location, well known for its 80-kilometre winding gorge, coastal cliffs that plunge more than 100 metres to the ocean, beautiful wildflowers, abundant bird and wild-life as well as its diverse walking trails.
The Skywalk platforms are accessible for people using wheelchairs.
Pathways are flat and level to the Skywalk, toilets and shelters for easy access for people with prams and wheelchairs. There is also undercover seating and a kiosk.
Roads are sealed. Park entry fees apply.
Drinking water can be purchased during kiosk operation times. Wear a hat and take plenty of water on all walking trails within the park.
