Probably one of the best views of the Narrows and St. John's Harbour.
There was another cache in this location for a number of years "The Little Ammo Cache" that has since gone missing and was archived.
This location was always a bit of a favorite of mine for it's views and the relative quietness of the location away from all the other popular "lookouts" in the area.
The best approach is to park at the visitors center on the road to Signal Hill. Walk toward the harbour. The terrain is not difficult. There is a trail that leads to the cache. By keeping to the path you will avoid any climbing or loose rocks.The cache is found very close to the path and hidden among rocks. Please return it to this same spot.
This area provides a spectacular view of St. John's Harbour. It is generally away from the public but you do need to be careful of muggles watching from the hill tops.
The intent was to provide a large enough container for exchanging and moving travel bugs and geo coins. While this one isn't an Ammo Can its still large enough to hold lots of swag, TB's and Geocoins.
At the time of placement for this new cache I did actually find the remains (baggy with cache contents) near the original GZ for the archived Little Ammo can cache. There were 2 TB's in the baggy so I retreived those, placed one in the new cache and the other will be placed in another cache soon. I also dumped the swag from the baggy in my new cache as well as the original log book for posterity.. Please sign the new log sheet that is in the same baggy.
So at the time of placement this new cache has lots of swag and 3 TB's that need to get moving along.
