BAGNO A RIPOLI - PISTA CICLOPEDONABILE
Bagno a Ripoli copre una superficie di circa 74 km² e si estende a est di Firenze su terreni pianeggianti per circa un terzo della sua superficie e per la restante parte su terreni collinari. Occupa da una parte la zona del Valdarno Superiore mentre dall'altra una parte del Chianti. Se si esclude l'Arno e lo spartiacque Valdarno Superiore-conca fiorentina, i suoi confini non coincidono con elementi fisici quali corsi d'acqua, strade, valichi. L'ultima modifica ai confini del territorio ripolese risale al 1928 . Col crescere di dimensioni del capoluogo, l'abitato di Bagno a Ripoli si trova oggi sul confine della città di Firenze, con i due centri abitati che si uniscono senza un confine evidente. Nel territorio comunale sono presenti boschi estesi per circa 15 km² il più importante è quello di Fonte Santa che, con le sue querce e castagni, è un bell'esempio di flora tipica. Sorto probabilmente come villaggio etrusco con il nome di Marm, si trasformò intorno al III secolo in luogo di commercio. A Bagno a Ripoli sono state recentemente ritrovate le vestigia di ville romane e terme. Successivamente chiamato Quarto (la distanza in miglia da Firenze) il luogo prese poi il nome odierno, che ricorda altre famose località termali romane come Aix-les-Bains in Francia o Baden Baden in Germania.

BAGNO A RIPOLI - BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN PATH
Bagno a Ripoli covers an area of about 74 km² and extends east of Florence on flat land for about a third of its surface and the remaining part on hilly land. It occupies on one side the area of the Upper Valdarno while on the other part of the Chianti. Except for the Arno and the Valdarno Superiore-Conca Fiorentina watershed, its borders do not coincide with physical elements such as waterways, roads, passes. The last modification on the borders of the Ripolese territory dates back to 1928. As the capital grows in size, the town of Bagno a Ripoli is now located on the border of the city of Florence, with the two inhabited centers coming together without an obvious border. In the municipal area there are woods covering about 15 km², the most important of which is Fonte Santa which, with its oaks and chestnut trees, is a fine example of typical flora. Probably built as an Etruscan village with the name of Marm, it was transformed around the third century into a trading place. The vestiges of Roman villas and spas have recently been found in Bagno a Ripoli. Subsequently called Quarto (the distance in miles from Florence) the place then took its present name, which recalls other famous Roman spas such as Aix-les-Bains in France or Baden Baden in Germany.
