Spruce Labrador Tea Rust is disease that attacks the folilage of all native spruce trees. It can be found throughout the province, but is most common near swamps and bogs where labrador tea grows in abundance. Labrador tea is it's alternate host.
The latin name for the Spruce Labrador Tea rust is Chrysomyxa ledicola Lagerth. North 53 38.729 West 122 58.775
The disease attacks the current years new growth. The needles will show white blisters with bright orange spores.
