You couldn't grow up on Long Island without being familiar with Billy Joel. He has been a popular solo artist since the 70's. As long as I could remember I have been a huge fan. As a Long Islander I always find it interesting where famous people got there start. He grew up in Hicksville. When Billy is asked which one of his songs is his favorite he usual answers "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant". If you listen to the lyrics of the song he talks about his youth, what they wore, what they drove and where they hung out. He mentions an Italian restarant, a Diner, and the village green. There are many debates as to which restaurant it was and which Diner it was but the one thing we do know is the village green he use to hang out on.
