Three Firs

This cache is placed to encourage cachers to hike up the 3 Firs route.  Please take care when close to GZ as the cache can only be retrieved from the ledge side of the rocks. The cache is a small container hidden in a crevice covered by some rocks about 1 m above where you are standing on the ledge.

The Route

The route goes on the South side of Spring Buttress and north of Slangolie Ravine. 

This is a fairly easy route with only 1 stepover early on in the route that is awkward but not dangerous.

Route Description

Take the pipe track from Theresa Av towards Corridor.  Shortly after crossing woody Ravine (200m after Woody) and before Slangolie, there is an exposed section of pipe with a rock shelf next to it. Trailhead waypoint.  Take off up a steep zig-zag path up to the buttress above About 70m up the mountain you reach a rock wall where the main path heads towards the right. .

At the buttress, the path splits left and right.    Take the right path.  A short way round the corner is a short rock step. Scramble up and around. A bit exposed but not difficult.

After the rock step follow a right ascending traverse towards Slangolie Ravine and then up a long easy slope to the Apostles path. The path is rocky but well defined.
