After a long day of driving around town, Mipha and Urbosa decided to stop at a cafe to pick up two half-gallon containers of their favorite juice. Unfourtnely, they had to park on the other end of the shopping strip due to the high amount of outlet mall shoppers parked in the cafe's parking lot. After a five-minuite walk accross the lot, they reached the cafe and were ready to get their drinks.
"Oh no," Mipha said. "I didn't order ahead on my phone, and I left it in the car!"
"The drive-through is closed right now for some reason, meaning we have to go inside to get the drinks," Urbosa replied.
"Well, I could go in, but I don't want to risk getting myself sick..." Mipha responded.
She looked at Urbosa and was silent.
"I can go in," Urbosa said.
She put on her mask, and went into the cafe.
When Urbosa got out with the juices, the sky had become dark, and it was raining. The parking lot that was packed earlier was now practly empty.
Mipha and Urbosa run accross the mostly-vacant parking lot. Rain pours from the black sky and wind rushes harshly, as if to blow the two women over. Drenched and cold, they try to reach their car parked on the other side of the road. The rain isn't just a light drizzle, but an intence storm. They proceed to run towards their car in the ankle-deep, rushing waters. Suddenly, Mipha turns to see headlights beaming. The large vehicle weaves out of controll, charging right at the two women.
Dazed, neither Mipha nor Urbosa could intertpert what was going on.
In a flash, they were no longer in the parking lot, but the driveway of the shopping strip. They had dropped their half-gallon drinks that they had picked up from the cafe.
In a flash, they were laying in the road, not knowing what happened.
"What just happened?" Mipha asked as she staggered to stand up.
"That car... I thought that it hit us," Urbosa replied.
Urbosa looked over to see the car crashed into a tree. "But how did we escape...?"
Mipha was silent. She stared at her friend before speaking up.
"It's quite unsafe for us to be sitting in the road. If you can, you should get out of the road," she said.
"That would be a wise idea, but what really happened?" Urbosa responded.
As the two women walked out of the road, Mipha tried to explain what happened.
"Well, umm... we were running back to our car, and... and I saw a large van," She explained.
Urbosa replied quickly. "I remember the van, but I don't remember anything after the headlights blinded us."
"I remember the van comming right at us, and diving towards the driveway, but that's all..." Mipha stated.
They were both silent as they walked through the storm towards their car.
When Mipha and Urbosa reached their car, they were both drenched, and didn't even have the juices that they had come there for. Mipha had already gotten into the car, but before she drove away, Urbosa trudged through the water to place a container documenting what had just happened under a lamp skirt.
The storm still raged on as they drove back to Link's appartment. Hopfuly, everything was alright.
A bit of a note about this story,
When I went out to find the place to put this, it was raining REALLY HARD. I wanted to make the story based around what could've ended in a disaster while still keeping in mind aspects of the storm. In the story, Mipha and Urbosa are trying to get back to their car parked far away while it's raining. I didn't go into much detail during the part with the van. How hard is it to write a scene where two video game characters almost get hit by an off road van after all?
I wanted to keep this family-friendly as possible, and yea, they were fine.
Have fun!
