Upon moving to Ashland, WI last year this local oddity caught my eye. Along the shores of beautiful Lake Superior are many interesting sites. Highway 2 serves as the main thoroughfare but also be sure to pop over a block inland to Main Street where you will find many excellent small businesses, goverment buildings, and public artwork.
