This cache is placed to celebrate 110th anniversary of Nature Protection in Estonia. Joint with State Forest Management Centre geocaching as a game is introduced to wider public and interesting nature trails are promoted. Short game instructions are within the cache!
The cache takes you to old roadbridge and the trail leads you to Rannajõe bird watching tower. From here you will see the biggest open and flat landscape in North-Europe - the grassfields of Matsalu. This is so ideally flat, that during WW2 and later it was used as military airfield.

See aare viib Su endise maanteesilla juurde ja vana maantee looge juhatab edasi Rannajõe vaatetornini. Siit ja ka lähedalolevast Rannajõe vaatetornist näed hurmavat vaadet Kasari jõe luhale. See on suurim praeguseni säilinud lageluht Põhja-Euroopas.
Kuna see ala on nii tasane ja lage, siis huvitaval kombel kasutati seda lagedat luhaala Nõukogude okupatsiooniajal ka muul eesmärgil – nimelt sõjaväe lennuväljana. Rohkem saad sellest lugeda:
