Ashampstead Village hall is situated in Church Lane, very close to the historic St Clement’s Church. The hall itself was first built in 1875, but was refurbished in 2014. As with many villages, the hall provides the community with an amenity which can be hired for activities as diverse as private parties and yoga classes.
Now for the cache.
The published coordinates are for a telegraph pole in the hall car park, which has three lines of letters/numbers on it.
The top line is JAC followed by a two digit number A0
The second line is DP
The third line is a two digit number BC
Now leave the car park, turn left and head north to the village cross at stage 2.
The date on the cross is A.D. XYYZ
