Geocache Description:

This is one in a series of caches that I am putting out with TerriBikes+.  Each cache will have something very specific in common with the other.

This cache is located just outside of the last open spot at the southern edge of Ohlendorf Park.  I often walk by here when taking long walks.

Howard C. Ohlendorf, a local businessman and civic leader, donated the property to St. Louis County in 1971 and 1976. In 2011, plans were developed to build the Emergency Communication Commission building you see on the property.  My neighbors were pretty unhappy about all of this, but there were appropriations of $350,000 for improvements of the playground and trails.

As always, please be respectful of the space and the neighbors and consider your own personal CITO should you see any waste that isn't the cache.

You might want to bring a #2 pencil, or something similar, since the cache is too small for a writing implement.

Blanket permission for caches in St. Louis County Parks is permitted if geocaches follow established policy found here: https://www.stlouisco.com/Portals/8/docs/document%20library/parks/pdfs/policies/Geocaching-policy.pdf?ver=2012-10-05-082326-840.  This cache follows these policies.

Ohlendorf West Park is open from 8 a.m. to 30 minutes past sunset.  Please do not search for this geocache outside of park hours.
