Tricky-Furfeatherd Hawkeye-Ricardo Traditional Cache

This cache is temporarily unavailable.

Professor Xavier: Hi

One of my roles as a reviewer is to monitor my region for caches that have been disabled for a long time, have had a reasonable number of DNFs or appear to require some maintenance. This is done through running a query on a database of all the caches in my region that looks for such things or by cachers submitting Needs Archiving logs as it appears maintenance may not be being carried out by the CO.

It would appear that this cache may benefit from some attention by the CO. May I ask that the owner checks the cache and sort out any problems with it or gives an indication of when it may be up and running again for people to find. If this cannot be done or if the CO no longer wishes to maintain the cache then the listing should be archived.

Of course if the CO has visited the cache recently then please post an Owner Maintenance log indicating that they have done so, enable the listing, and all should be fine.

In the future, if a listing is going to be disabled for a long time then posting periodic notes to the page (once per month or so) keeps people up to date with what is happening.

This isn't a requirement to fix the cache immediately but if it's unlikely to be done within 30 days could the CO post a note to the cache page giving an indication of when the maintenance will be done, or an indication of why it cannot be carried out.

By all means send a mail to me through my profile, quoting the cache name and GC code, but please also post a note to the cache page. Emails to me may be missed or go astray and it would be a shame to archive the listing due to missing correspondence.

Guidelines: "You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to maintain proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.). You may temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have a chance to fix the problem. This feature is to allow you a reasonable amount of time - normally a few weeks - in which to check on your cache. If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing."

Sadly if there is no response to this log after 30 days I may have to archive the cache.

Please note that the guidelines say that if a cache is archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ staff for lack of maintenance then it will not be unarchived - Unarchiving a Geocache

Geocache Description:

My Youngest Koo Koo Bird is about to fly the nest! So I have placed this trail of 18 Krazy Koo Koo Birds who circle the Cotswold Town of Chipping Norton to stop me from suffering with empty nest syndrome.

There is a mix of Nano, Bison containers, test-tubes , magnetic bullets, Magnetic boxes, Magnetic signs and box ( these have swappables) , to keep you on your toes and stop you getting bored!

If you want to catch all the Koo Koo's in one day then you will walk approximately 6 miles from start to finish. You can park for free at New Street Car Park (OX7 5LJ) or Albion Street which is a smaller Car Park.

The route takes you along Glyme Lane by, William Fowler allotments. Follow this track until you find an old farm house.

From the Farm House you will go through 3 Kissing gates, head over the bridge into a small woodland, exit via the Kissing Gate.

When you exit the woodland, you will enter a field where you can see a derelict building, follow the footpath across the field to another kissing gate, where you will see a sign for a nature reserve, keep left and follow this track up a small hill to a gate.

From this gate you will be able to see the Chipping Norton Golf Club, walk across the field following the footpath to the houses, if you are lucky the horses maybe in this field.

At the gate entering the farm Yard walk straight; this will lead you to a long tree lined driveway. Follow this to the end.

You have a choice now, you can either finish the route and save some for another day or carry on across the road down the footpath. The choice is yours

If you carry at the end of the foot path turn left, walking towards the petrol station. Cross the road and go through the wrought iron gate, follow the path along (this should be a clear pathway) There is a cache that does not belong to us , so please swing by and sign the log!

Do not turn of this track until you walk through a metal kissing gate ( you may be tempted to follow a path to the left!) You are now close to the village of Over Norton, just a walk up the hill and you will be back on main roads for a while.

Follwo the road back towards Chipping Norton, on the edge of the village, where the houses end you will see a track straight in front of you. If you are walking a round a corner and down the hill by the road you need to go back!

Follow this track until it forks left, you will be looking for a gap in the hedge which reveals the last part of the country side walk back into Chipping Norton.

Exit the track towards the Church and climb the hill up to the top of Spring Street. The Old Alms houses are here – count the chimneys and doors ! Once you are at the top of Spring street you can walk along the high street back to your car.
