Welcome to downtown Guelph! This particular GZ presents a cornucopia of new art, which arose in part due to the Wilson Street Public Art Project. For example, "Sudden Garden" (i.e., the nearby deer w/ a variety of geometric shapes emerging from them) is billed as bringing "together wilderness and civilization – nature and the urban [...] The polished bronze deer speak to the continuing vitality of the region and our shared past and future. They are a symbol of gentleness and innocence and represent a community living together both in the wilderness of the past and the present urban moment." Also note the variety of nearby murals.
You are also at the foot of the Guelph Farmer's Market (which has been running here for ~180 years!) and the nearby nearly ~140 years old Our Lady Immaculate basilica, sitting high atop the hill and designated a National Historic Site of Canada.
You are looking for a relatively familiar container type, hidden in a custom "container". No need to pry please! If you are gentle, you should be able to extract the container. Please replace appropriately (i.e., note the inner screw).
