Geocache Description:

Come and explore Greenland New Hampshire!  This is the fifth in a series of Mystery Caches meant to give you a taste of our towns in Northern New England. We thank 4Swans of Massachusetts for the idea.

  • Greenland was originally a parish of Portsmouth (then called Strawberry Banke). In 17Z(W+2) residents requested and were granted a separate parish.
  • The Weeks Brick House, built c.1710 and among the oldest brick houses in all New England, is located along NH Route 33 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Its brick walls are 1(X-1) inches thick.
  • Greenland's Weeks Public Library was dedicated on May 19 18Y8.
  • In 197B Greenland's first traffic light was installed at the intersection of NH Rtes. D0D (now 33) and 151.
  • A = (# of bridges over I-95 in Greenland - 1)

Some seekers are having trouble navigating the puzzle. Perhaps this will help.

The first question has a year leading you to the values of two letters, Z and W.  Let's say the year is 1729 (it isn't).

  • Z would be easy: Z = 2
  • W is a bit more complicated. The last number in the year is 9.  So, W+2 = 9, or W = 7
