Geocache Description:

Come and explore East Kingston New Hampshire!  This is the seventh in a series of Mystery Caches meant to give you a taste of our towns in Northern New England. We thank 4Swans of Massachusetts for the idea.

  • Measuring just about 1W square miles, East Kingston was once a part of Kingston called Kingston East Parish, but was granted a separate charter in 17C(Y-1) by Governor Jonathan Belcher. Several residents of East Kingston had petitioned Governor Belcher that its location was too distant from the Kingston school and place of worship.
  • The Boston and Maine Railroad's Western Division once served the town of East Kingston with (B+1) station(s). This route now carries AMTRAK's Downeaster, which does not stop in town.
  • The Union Cemetery at D(X+2) South Road and the Hillside Cemetery at 29 Haverhill Rd are two town cemeteries currently handling burials.
  • The town seal displays the mill at Trickling Falls. On the seal, there are A windows on the left side of the mill building.
  • East Kingston is bordered by Kingston (of course!) and Z other towns.
