Terry Lee Day lived in Mulvane, Kansas, worked at The Coleman Company, in Wichita, and was in the area visiting a friend.
On Saturday, August 14, 1976, Terry had turned south on county line road from U.S. Hwy. 50 and had crossed 2 of the 3 sets of railroad tracks, about 100 yards south of the highway.
The train engineer reported that the train was westbound. He said that Terry's vehicle backed up, north, around the lowered crossing guards. The car then stopped on the north set of tracks. The driver's door opened just as the train struck the car. Terry was killed instantly.
Rest In Peace, Terry
Good luck and enjoy all your caching journeys !!
