“Get your towels ready it's about to go down
Everybody in the place hit the deck
But stay on your toes
We runnin this, let's go”
Summer is coming to an end and you know what that means... it's time to get on a boat! This makes the 7th year we have descended on Shawnee Mission Lake for Geocaching, boating and friendship. Luckily, many area geocachers have been kind enough to place boat approachable caches for us to find in addition to the event.
This year is different for many many reasons that hopefully I do not have to explain. As a result, our friends at the marina have taken steps to allow us to social distance and be safe while still being able to get on the water and geocache. Please read over their page if you plan to rent a watercraft for this event. All rentals must be done in advance and I recommend you select the 12:00 PM reservation time.
There will be a log and a group photo, but both are completely optional. I just ask that you "attend" by getting on the water in the general area between 12 and 1 the day of the event. No need to check in with me or sign a log unless you want to. The affable javthrowr will be available to take a group photo at 12:30 PM for those who wish to participate but please do your best to social distance (she can always zoom out). I hope to see you there!

Event Details
Location: Shawnee Mission Park Marina
Date: Saturday August 29th
Time: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM (Optional group photo around 12:30 PM)
Requirements: You must get on the water in the lake, no logging from the shore.
The marina has a covered shelter above the rental office for those who wish to only watch or take pictures. This will also serve as our rain out contingency meeting spot (after all there will still be water everywhere).
