Toiros a solta!!! / Bulls on the street!!! Traditional Geocache

Tourada à corda, toirada à corda ou corrida de touros à corda, é um divertimento tauromáquico tradicional nos Açores, com particular expressão na ilha Terceira, acreditando-se ser a mais antiga tradição de folguedo popular do arquipélago.

A modalidade tauromáquica é específica dos Açores e caracteriza-se pela corrida de 4 touros adultos da raça brava da ilha Terceira ao longo de um arraial montado numa rua ou estrada, num percurso máximo que regra geral é de 500 m.

O animal é controlado por uma corda atada ao seu pescoço (daí a designação do tipo de tourada) e segura por 6 homens (os pastores) que conduzem a lide e impedem a sua saída para além do troço de via estipulado. A lide é conduzida por membros do público, em geral rapazes, embora seja admissível a presença de capinhas contratados.

Após a lide, os animais são devolvidos às pastagens sendo repetidamente utilizados, embora com um período de descanso mínimo de 8 dias.

A cache é um container tradicional com um brinde FTF, e um logbook e um animal bravo no interior, tentem por favor preserva-la.

Bullfighting rope, is a traditional bullfighting fun in the Azores, with particular expression on the island of Terceira, believed to be the oldest tradition of popular fun in the archipelago.

The bullfighting modality is specific to the Azores and is characterized by the race of 4 adult bulls of the brave race of Terceira island along a camp mounted on a street or road, in a maximum course that is usually 500 m.

The animal is controlled by a rope attached to its neck (hence the name of the type of bullfight) and held by 6 men (the shepherds) who lead the fight and prevent its exit beyond the stipulated road section. The fight is conducted by members of the public, usually boys, although the presence of hired covers is permissible.

After the fight, the animals are returned to the pastures, being used repeatedly, although with a minimum rest period of 8 days.

The cache is a traditional container with an FTF gift, and a logbook and a wild animal inside, please try to preserve it.
