Das Skigebiet
Der Einstieg in das Skigebiet Mölltaler Gletscher erfolgt mit der längsten unterirdischen Standseilbahn der Welt, dem „Gletscherexpess“ mit einer Länge von 4.827 m. Somit kann komfortabel und schnell die Mittelstation auf 2.200 m erreicht werden. In der Mittelstation befinden sich 4 Aufstiegshilfen. Die Schlepplifte Mittelstation und Stübele, die Kabinenbahn Wurtenkees, sowie der 4er Sessellift Schwarzkopf.
Mit der Kabinenbahn „Wurtenkees“ gelangt man zum Eisseehotel auf 2.800 m. Bereits hier erfüllt sich das Versprechen „Erlebnis 3000“ mit dem Blick auf die ersten 4 Dreitausender der Goldberggruppe, dem Schareck (3.122 m), dem Hohen Sonnlick (3.106 m), der Baumbachspitze (3.105 m) und dem Weinflaschenkopf (3.008 m).
Mit der 6er-Sesselbahn „Mölltaler Gletscher Jet“ bzw. dem 2er-Sessellift Dreitausender gelangt man direkt unter den Gipfel des Schareck und kann die Aussicht auf weitere 6 Dreitausender, den Großglockner (3.798 m), den Hocharn (3.254 m), den Krumlkeeskopf (3.103 m), den Roten Mann (3.095 m), den Sandkopf (3.090 m), die Arlthöhe (3.084 m) sowie die umliegenden Gebirgszüge genießen.
Zudem befinden sich noch zwei weitere Liftanlagen in der 2. Sektion. Der 2er-Sessellift Klühspies, welcher Freunde des Wintersports von knapp oberhalb des Wurtenspeichers bis auf Höhe des Eisseehotels befördert sowie der 4er-Sessellift Alteck am Gegenhang.
The ski area
Access to the Mölltal Glacier ski area is via the longest underground funicular in the world, the “Glacier Express” with a length of 4,827 m. The middle station at 2,200 m can thus be reached quickly and comfortably. There are 4 lifts in the middle station. The middle station and Stübele drag lifts, the Wurtenkees gondola lift and the Schwarzkopf 4-seater chairlift.
The “Wurtenkees” cable car takes you to the Eisseehotel at 2,800 m. Already here the promise "Experience 3000" is fulfilled with the view of the first 4 three thousand meter peaks of the Goldberg group, the Schareck (3,122 m), the Hohen Sonnlick (3,106 m), the Baumbachspitze (3,105 m) and the Weinflaschenkopf (3,008 m).
With the 6-seater chairlift "Mölltaler Gletscher Jet" or the 2-seater chairlift 3,000 meter you get directly below the summit of the Schareck and can enjoy the view of another 6 3,000 meter peaks, the Großglockner (3,798 m), the Hocharn (3,254 m), the Krumlkeeskopf (3,103 m), the Roten Mann (3,095 m), the Sandkopf (3,090 m), the Arlthöhe (3,084 m) and the surrounding mountain ranges.
There are also two more lifts in the 2nd section. The 2-seater chairlift Klühspies, which transports winter sports fans from just above the Wurtenspeicher to the level of the Eisseehotel, and the 4-seater chairlift Alteck on the opposite slope.
