Your escape room adventure takes place at a quaint nursing home located beside a beautiful scenic river in an isolated area in the countryside. Originally a Victorian home located on a small farm, several additions have created a modest facility which is home to 40 residents and 10 staff.
One sunny and hot August afternoon, you drive from Indiana to Northwest Ohio to visit your grandmother on her 90th birthday. Along with a $3 card from Walmart that you purchased along the way, you have her favorite box of Russell Stover chocolates and a bottle of Nehi grape soda. As you pull into the parking lot and gather your offerings, you notice the parking lot is unusually empty. The annoying buzz of the door phone goes unanswered. "Buzzzzzz", a second attempt still goes unanswered by staff. Awkwardly shuffling your gifts into one arm, you knock on the door and it slowly opens with long, moaning squeak. "Hello?" The only sound you hear is a soothing waft of Muzak from the ceiling speakers. As you take a seat in the reception room, you hear the entry door behind you close with a soft click as the door handle locks.
