Argus Filch Bonus Cache – #40 Provo Potter Parkway Series
The Argus Filch cache is part of the Provo Potter Parkway Series. This Bonus Cache is found at the posted coordinates. This cache has a combination lock. To open the lock, you must first find the four caches in The Inquisitorial Squad series that each contain one of the numbers in the combination lock.
To open the lock, use the numbers from each cache in this order: Draco Malfoy, Crabbe & Goyle Jr., Pansy Parkinson, and Mrs. Norris.
The Provo Potter Parkway Series includes caches along the Provo River Parkway trail. Some are at a distance from parking lots that provide trail access, but all are steps from the paved trail which is easily navigated by biking or walking.
Visit Harry Potter Hunt online for a list of all caches in this series, tips on where to park, and movie clips to enhance the experience of this geocaching adventure.
Where to Look
On detention, you must follow Filch off the paved trail and into the Forbidden Forest. Look for a steep dirt trail that leads you down into the trees just off the Parkway Trail (toward the river).
Night Friendly Cache
This cache is made to be found during the day, but is also a Night Friendly Cache. If you dare to wander into the Forbidden Forest at night, use a flashlight and you will see a reflector on the tree closest to the hiding spot. (Anti-mosquito spells may be required during summer months).
What’s Inside
Inside this cache you will find:
- The Argus Filch Logbook.
- Confiscated SWAG from Filch’s office to trade (including some Glow-in-the-Dark SWAG).
Muggle Awareness
Beware of muggles. The Provo River Parkway Trail can have high traffic, particularly on weekends. Stealth is required. Please don’t be the one responsible for a call to the Obliviator Headquarters at the Ministry of Magic. We would like to keep the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes out of this.
Please relock and rehide the cache. The Muggle-Repelling Charm will only work if you leave the cache hidden how you found it.
Happy hunting!
