De Zuidas (‘Grootstedelijk gebied Zuidas’) ligt in Amsterdam, in de Nederlandse provincie Noord-Holland. Het gebied verbindt de wijken Buitenveldert en Oud-Zuid in het stadsdeel Zuid. De Zuidas ligt aan weerszijden van de Rijksweg A10 Zuid tussen de rivier Amstel en rivier De Schinkel. Het beslaat een oppervlakte van ongeveer 245 hectare. Op het breedste stuk is Zuidas 1,14 km en op het smalste stuk slechts 750 m. Totale lengte Zuidas 3,5 km (zie kaart). Station Amsterdam Zuid bevindt zich in het centrum van het gebied. Aan de oostkant ligt station Amsterdam RAI. De Zuidas is vooral bekend als zakendistrict. Dankzij de strategische ligging, dicht bij Schiphol en bij de Amsterdamse binnenstad, trekt het gebied nationale en internationale bedrijven en instellingen.
The Zuidas ('Metropolitan area Zuidas') is located in Amsterdam, in the Dutch province of North Holland. The area connects the Buitenveldert and Oud-Zuid districts in the Zuid district. The Zuidas lies on both sides of the A10 South highway between the Amstel river and the De Schinkel river. It covers an area of approximately 245 hectares. At the widest part the Zuidas is 1.14 km and at the narrowest part only 750 m. Total length Zuidas 3.5 km (see map). Amsterdam South Station is located in the center of the area. Amsterdam RAI station is located on the east side. The Zuidas is best known as a business district. Thanks to its strategic location, close to Schiphol Airport and the city center of Amsterdam, the area attracts national and international companies and institutions.
