Take a walk a long the path here to the south-east and you will find yourself at Umbagong District Park, an important natural wildlife corridor. The park is an area of roughly 50 hectares of grassy woodland that extends either side of Ginninderra Creek. There are over 120 species of birds, a small population of kangaroos and occasional sightings of swamp wallaby, echidna, turles and native water rats. The Park also has high aboriginal signficance due to the presence of axe grinding grooves and the creek provided an ancient pathway for Aboriginal people to the Murrumbidgee River.
You must keep dogs on leash until you come to the offleash dog exercise area in Umbagong Park (past the last of the houses to the south-east). Keep unleashed dogs under control and be aware there are native animals in the park, and bike riders and runners using the paths.
