This new park is a nice flat walk in the woods. Sparse as it may be, if you look hard enough or listen, you can see and hear plenty of birds and bugs. Spiders, one of my favorite creatures, are very interesting. Ground dwelling spiders molt while laying on their back, and push the old skin off. They ,however, die on their feet. Literally. Legs curled under.Standing up. Several species carry their egg until it hatches, then the young stay on moms back for awhile. Talk about wanting to kick the kids out of the house!!!!! There could be up to 100 spiderlings on her back.
