This cache is part of a permanent geo-trail created by Boone County Conservation District that contains 8 other stops throughout 7 total conservation areas.
Each of the caches on this trail contain a letter, which, when put together with the other letters and unscrambled create a code-word. Those that are able to identify the code-word are encouraged to visit the BCCD nature center and receive a reward for completing the trail.
This cache is placed at Funderburg North Conservation area, a site that has been home to a pair of nesting Bald Eagles for several years. Since Bald Eagles are Federally protected, there are rules that must be followed to avoid disturbing them; links to these regulations can be found at the link below.
Please park in the designated parking lot and be aware that this site, and others on the trail, are closed seasonally. This site as well as others are closed for hunting according to the schedule which found can be found here: https://www.bccdil.org/hunting-programs/ and from November through April for winter and should not be accessed when closed.
