This cache is part of a permanent geo-trail created by Boone County Conservation District that contains 8 other stops throughout 7 total conservation areas.
Each of the caches on this trail contain a letter, which, when put together with the other letters and unscrambled create a code-word. Those that are able to identify the code-word are encouraged to visit the BCCD nature center and receive a reward for completing the trail.
This cache is placed at Edwards Park and Conservation Area, a site unique because it contains a meandering stream which has never been channelized. The stream is surrounded on both sides by a sedge meadow remnant containing many high-quality species. The upland portion of the property contains a tall grass prairie and native shrub planting. These three habitats provide for many pollinating insects and birds.
Please park in the designated parking lot and be aware that this site, and others on the trail, are closed seasonally. This particular site is closed from November through April for winter and should not be accessed when closed.
