Geocache Description:

This cache is one in a series based on the iconic story, The Princess Bride.

Shrieking eels are carnivorous sea-dwelling creatures that inhabit the waters near Florin, a fictional country in The Princess Bride.

Buttercup discovers these creatures when she jumps overboard from Vizzini's ship, to escape her kidnappers. The eels circle around her and move in for the kill. Fezzik the giant protects Buttercup and pulls her back safely back on the ship before the creatures can get a bite.

Vizzini: Do you know what that sound is, Highness? Those are the shrieking eels! If you don't believe me, just wait. They always grow louder when they're about to feed on human flesh! If you swim back now I promise no harm will come to you... I doubt you'll get such an offer from the eels.

One of those charming scenes happens here where Grandpa stops "reading the book" in response to his grandson's tense response.

Grandpa: She doesn't get eaten by the eels at this time.

The Grandson: What?

Grandpa: The eel doesn't get her. I'm explaining to you because you look nervous.

The Grandson: I wasn't nervous. Maybe I was a little bit concerned, but that's not the same thing.

Fun fact . . . in the book, it's not eels, but sharks which Vizzini threatens to attract by dropping blood in the water!

Either way, you are more likely to meet a shark while exploring Searcy.  This cache is nothing fancy and shockingly brings you to our newest addition to the Searcy Parks & Rec complex.  Watch for muggles & have fun.

** Geocaches in the sports complex were placed with the permission of the Director of Searcy Parks & Rec . . . . but it is unlikely the staff here are aware of their existence.**

Congratulations to GKMFalcon for the FTF!!
