Tämä on seitsemän pisteen laskumulti, jonka pisteet sijaitsevat pääosin Kotkansaarella. Voit kiertää pisteet haluamassasi järjestyksessä. Parkkitilaa löytyy helposti, mutta joudut kuitenkin jalkautumaan poluille ja kallioille päästäksesi kohteeseen. Kalliot ja polut voivat olla liukkaita, joten en suosittele tätä ihan pikkulapsille. The sea, its beaches and birds, islets, ships and islands... Kotka is a city by the sea. The centre of the city is located on an island, which makes the sea an important part of Kotka citizens' identity. Welcome to a sightSEAing that'll take you to the sea, without you having to step a foot in a boat!
This is a 7 stage multi-cache with simple calculations, located on Kotkansaari island. You can go through the stages in whichever order you prefer. Parking space can be found easily, but you still need to step out on to trails and cliffs to get to the locations. Trails and cliffs can be slipery, so this is not the best multi-cache for the little kids. Please note the special tool-attribute. You'll need one on the D and E locations.

Kuusisen saareen vievä pengertie on aina ollut se paikka, jonne kotkalaiset ovat tulleet autoillaan katselemaan myrskyävää merta tai auringonkiloa laineilla.
Tänne Juha Vainio kadun varrelle on pystytetty riimikiviä. Riimikiviin on ikuistettu Kotkan oman pojan Junnu Vainion ikivihreitä sanoituksia. "Ääretön aava ympärilläin" on Juha Vainion 50-vuotislahja Eino Grönille. Kappale vie Eino Grönin synnyinmaisemiin Porin Reposaareen.

- Kuusinen
Saari on toiminut ennen luotsien tukikohtana, mistä syystä saarta kutsutaan myös Luotsi-Kuusiseksi. Saarella sijaitsee Kuusisen satama, joka toimii Suomen merivoimien sotilassatamana, kalasatamana, Suomen valtion väyläalusten satamana sekä Kotkan saariston yhteysalusliikenteen satamana. Saarella toimii myös merivartioasema.
Kiipeä näkötorniin ihailemaan maisemia ja laske samalla askelmien lukumäärä. (Myös ylin taso) Luku olkoon B.
- Vellamo
Merikeskus Vellamo on Kotkan Kantasatamaan vuonna 2008 valmistunut rakennus, jossa sijaitsevat Suomen merimuseo, Kymenlaakson museo, Merivartiomuseo ja Kotkan kulttuuri- ja tapahtumapalvelut. Rakennus itsessään muistuttaa jättiläismäistä aaltoa.
Nouse ylös kattoestradille. Ylhäällä on useita porrastasoja. Tehtävänäsi on laskea vasemman puolen reunimmaiset askelmat. (Myös ylin taso) Luku olkoon C. VAIHTOEHTOISESTI: Laske rakennuksen idän puolella sijaisevat harmaat matalat valotolpat ja lisää lukumäärään 11.
- Linjataulu
Fort Katarina on Ruotsinsalmen merilinnoituksen päälinnoitus Kotkassa. Se sijaitsee Kotkansaaren eteläosassa Katariinanniemellä. Linnoitusalue on nykyisin osa Katariinan meripuistoa.
Raunioiden kupeella kalliolla sijaitsee linjataulu. Rannalla näet sen alemman parin. Yhdessä ne osoittavat väylälinjan tarkan sijainnin. Kun linjamerkit näkyvät päällekkäin, on alus väylän keskilinjalla.
Tehtävänäsi on mitata linjataulun leveys. Ilmoita leveys metrin tarkkuudella. Luku olkoon D.
- Tammisotilaat
Vuosien 1789-1790 Ruotsinsalmen meritaisteluissa upposi Kotkan edustalle yhteensä jopa 80 alusta. 1900-luvun alkupuolella merestä nostettiin hylynosia, joiden löytöpaikka on jäänyt tuntemattomaksi. Kymenlaakson museolla on ollut varastoituna niin paljon entistä laivatammea, että kaupungin puistotoimi sai siitä osan käyttöönsä. Näin nämä massiivipuut jatkavat elämäänsä Katariinan meripuistossa tammisotilaina.

- Ruotsinsalmen tähystys- ja vartiotorni
Ruotsinsalmen linnoituskaupungin tunnusmajakan raunioille on rakennettu näköalatasanne, josta on hulppeat näkymät niin kaupungin yli kuin myös merelle.
Tehtäväsi on laskea näköalatasanteelle johtavien askelmien määrä (myös ylin taso) ja alatasanteella kivisen holvin sisällä olevien kattorakenteiden kiinnityspulttien lukumäärä. Laske luvut yhteen. Olkoon tämä luku F.

- Ääretön aava ympärilläin
The causeway between Kotkansaari island and Kuusinen island is the place where local people come to watch the sea, storm roaring down or sun glitter on waves.
The street is named after Juha Vainio, the local lyricist, singer and composer whose songs finnish people love. Rhymestones placed along the street have his evergreen lyrics carved in them. "Ääretön aava ympärilläin" (Endless sea around) is Juha Vainio's birthday present to his friend Eino Grön. Your task is to count how many R-letters there are in the text. The number is A.
- Kuusinen
Kuusinen is also called Luotsi-Kuusinen. Luotsi means pilot. Anyhow pilots no longer live nor work on the island. Luotsi-Kuusinen island is connected to Kotkansaari island by a causeway. From Kuusinen observation tower you can see also Kuusinen harbour which consists of Finnish Navy Military Harbour, fishing harbour, Finnish Government Buoy tender harbour and commuter ferry harbour. Coast Guard Station is also located on the island.
Your task is to count the steps of the observation tower. The number will be B.
- Vellamo
Maritime Centre Vellamo is home to the Maritime Museum of Finland, the Museum of Kymenlaakso, the Coast Guard Museum, Information Centre of Vellamo and the Kotka Cultural Centre. The wavelike building rises up to 30 metres with the length of 300 metres in the Old City Port of Kotka.
Climb up to the roof. On the top there are lots of stairs but you have to find the most left ones and count the steps. The number of the steps will be C. ALTERNATIVELY count the low gray posts on the east side of the building and add 11.
- Leading mark
Fort Katarina is the main fortress of the Ruotsinsalmi sea fortress and it is located on the southern part of Kotkansaari island. It is part of Kotka Seaside Park.
Nearby the ruins you'll find a leading mark. Together with its lower pair they indicate a leading line or navigational course in the direction in which they may be seen in vertical alignment.
Your task is to measure the width of the leading mark. Round your answer to the nearest meter. The number will be D.
- Oak soldiers
In the naval battles of Ruotsinsalmi in 1789 - 1790 a total of up to 80 ships sank off the coast of Kotka. In the early part of the 20th century, parts of wrecks were recovered from the sea. The location of these wrecks has remained unknown. The Museum of Kymenlaakso has stored so much of the old ship oak that the Park Service of Kotka obtained some for it own uses. In this way, these massive trees now continue their lives in Katariina Seaside Park as Oak soldiers.
Now, look to the sea together with the soldiers. Imagine the largest naval battle ever in the Baltic Sea... 9. - 10. July in 1790 the Battle of Ruotsinsalmi... The Sweadish naval forces against the Russian fleet... over 500 ships and 30 000 men...
Your task is to find the talliest solder on the nothernmost hill. Measure the girth of the soldier at one metre above ground level. Round the answer to the nearest 10 cm. That number is E.
- The old beacon ruins
The beacon of the Ruotsinsalmi sea fortress, which also served as guard tower was 27 metres high. The lower part of the beacon still remains and there is an observation platform built on top of it.
Climb up and count the steps. On ground level go inside the vault and look up. How many bolts are there in the middle of the sealing? Calculate the sum of the numbers. The number will be F.
