Geocache Description:

Welcome to Big Cedar Lake. Although there is still a lot of undeveloped shoreline, there are many cottages and year-round homes here. My family camps for a month every summer at Camp Burbalac, a private Baptist campground on the southeast shoreline. The public boat launch is beside the Campground, at the end of Julian Lake Road. There is space enough for 6-8 vehicles, and from there, you can access this tiny little one tree island and the rest of Big Cedar Lake.

As with all water caches, please ensure that you abide by boating laws and are carrying lifejackets, bailing bucket, 40 feet of rope, a whistle or horn and a floating flashlight with working batteries. Check wind speeds before you venture out. Wind speeds of less than 10-15 km per hour will be most enjoyable for you, and early morning is usually calm.

If you come in winter, it's about a 350 metre walk from the boat launch to the tiny island. Please ensure that the lake is completely frozen solid by checking with locals and watching for snowmobile users.
