De provincie Vlaams-Brabant en de Nationale Proeftuin voor Witloof vzw beslisten om de krachten te bundelen in één provinciaal extern verzelfstandigd agentschap, vzw Praktijkpunt Landbouw Vlaams-Brabant. Deze nieuwe organisatie staat in voor praktijkgericht landbouwonderzoek met focus op witloof dat inzet op ‘innovatie binnen de traditie’.
De focus van de proeftuin ligt al sinds 1973 op witloof. Daarnaast zette het voormalige proefcentrum in op innovatieve teelten, typisch Vlaams-Brabantse teelten en bredere thema’s zoals duurzaamheid, innovatie en bodem- en waterkwaliteit.
De eerste taak van het Praktijkpunt is de ondersteuning van land- en tuinbouwers. Vragen en problemen van land- en tuinbouwers zijn ook de basis voor de onderzoeksvragen waarrond men projecten opzet. Voor scholen en belangstellenden is het een informatiepunt waar ze terechtkunnen om bij te leren over landbouw en landbouwonderzoek. De praktijk wordt er getoond en men kan er met de handen uit de mouwen de landbouw ervaren.

The province of Flemish Brabant and the Nationale Proeftuin voor Witloof vzw decided to join forces in one provincial agency, Praktijkpunt Landbouw Vlaams-Brabant. This new organization is responsible for practice-based agricultural research with a focus on chicory that focuses on 'innovation within tradition'.
The focus of the experimental garden has been on chicory since 1973. In addition, the former test center focused on innovative crops, typical Flemish Brabant crops and broader themes such as sustainability, innovation and soil and water quality.
The first task of the Praktijkpunt is to support farmers and horticulturists. Questions and problems of farmers and horticulturists are also the basis for the research questions around which projects are set up. For schools and interested parties it is an information point where they can learn more about agriculture and agricultural research. Practice is shown there and people can experience agriculture with their hands.
