O ar cheira a estevais e a rosmaninho.

POT OF HOOKS
Poço das Talhas: the name makes sense. A few meters below the narrow bridge next to the watermills, the waters yield momentarily to the depth of the bed - there in the shape of a carving, then. Further down, because the stream continues, startled, between rocky outcrops and consecutive unevenness, there are other wells, but it was this one, the Talhas, that named this whole area and the old water mills.
Sixty years ago, women from the neighborhood, especially from my village and from neighboring places in the municipalities of Abrantes and Sardoal, arrived there, weighing on their heads and under their arms many hours of toil, sweat and faith. God knows what work it takes to grow corn.
Ricardo Marques, the miller, worked at a good pace, so many times, day and night, alone in the freshness of that valley, keeping himself and the thoughts that visited him company. Two water mills, only one man, no abundance, all around, over and over, in the fulfillment of his destiny. Wise and patiently.
Just as the wheel that now dives and now emerges, the history of this place also returned to its past to soon come up and breathe the air of our days. And who knows if the cycle will be complete already? Or how many laps can a life take?
Two years ago, when the fire broke out again in these parts, invincible, the flames didn't just destroy the landscape of my village, they licked the souls of their people and left several people silent. And don't think it was fear, because it wasn't.
It was because they had so much to say, and above all because they knew that there are silences as powerful as screams. To the conversations about that demonic afternoon - and they had the ability to turn back the clock, bring back the smell of pine and rosemary, but no - they had nothing to add.
Perhaps courage has filled them with doubts and the effort of resignation is possible, although we may never know it. If there was a possible justification for such misfortune and perhaps the disillusion would be less. So, without words, they had to take on nature, get down to work.
The rains swept the ashes and painted the slopes again, thus recovering hope and the green horizon. The stream now runs even more generously and around it lush ferns, acacia trees and broom grow. The air smells of cistus and rosemary. Squirrels, oriole, warblers and blackbirds are back.

GEOSSITIO MARMITAS DAS AZENHAS
Marmitas das Azenhas are found in different locations along the Frio River.
Very small pots were observed, originating from a simple discontinuity in the Belver granite, such as a diaclase.
Lunch boxes with different diameters, from a few meters to a dozen meters, were also detected in the riverbed itself.
Considering its different morphologies, as well as its dimensions, it is possible to tell the story of its appearance and its different phases of evolution over time.
