Ah Hello There. You must be the geocacher that everyone’s been talking about. My geocache name is ‘St. Simons Park mounds rocks’, it’s nice to meet you! Well Archaeologist Antonio J Waring Jr. excavated the nearby Georgia Coast mound site. He believed that there was something very valuable left behind in relics from ancient civilizations. He found over a thousand pottery and one hundred baked clay objects and took these to a museum for all to see. His good friend Chief Opothe Yahola called him out there because they believe the Creek Native Americans lived in Saint Simons Island for thousands of years. He has some brilliant plan or something but I’m just here to Geocache. I have to get to work though. We can talk more later!
Note: For more ssi mound sites check out maze runner for a shell heap. There are significant shell mound rings at Cannons point, and previously native sites found at saint simons airport.
Congrats to Jazzmaster for FTF - and a close FTF to gatorbaitfour!!
