Mission Breakdown
Mission Part 1: Find and retrieve information hidden in an NFC tag.

On a clear day, the posted co-ordinates offer stunning views to Scotland, along with the many small islands accessible at low tide in the Greater Millisle area. Go to those co-ordinates where you will find an NFC (Near Field Communication) tag. It requires the use of a smartphone or tablet and the enabling of a pre-installed feature on it; many new smartphones and tablets are capable of reading NFC tags. NFC is a means of storing a small amount of information on a tag using magnetic induction and then reading it merely by placing your device against the tag. To read the tag your phone or device must have its NFC setting enabled. Please check that your device is capable of doing this and how to enable this feature before setting out to save yourself a wasted journey!
At the coordinates given on this page you will find a white square NFC tag which you will need to read to access the Reverse Wherigo Cartridge. The NFC tag contains three, six digit numbers in the format of, 'Line 1: XXXXXX / Line 2: XXXXXX / Line 3: XXXXXX'. Note these three, six digit numbers as they are required to access the Reverse Wherigo Cartridge.
To read the tag just place the back of your device against the tag and the information above should then appear on your device automatically after a second or so, be careful not to drop your device! Hold your device still to give it a chance to read it, there is no need to wave about and certainly no need to remove the tag! If your device has a protective case fitted, it may read the NFC Tag better out of it. The NFC Tag has been tested using several different smartphones and works fine.
Mission Part 2: Input code retrieved from NFC tag into Reverse Wherigo Cartridge

Once you have obtained the three, six digit numbers above, you will need to input them into the Reverse Wherigo Cartridge. To access, the cartridge, you will need to download the Reverse Wherigo Cartridge on to your smartphone or GPS, if compatible. An app will be required to find this cache. We use Wherigo for iPhone. Other apps are available for android phones, eg WhereYouGo.
Royal Marine Commando Training #10 Reverse Wherigo Cartridge Download
This type of Wherigo allows you to search for the cache using only distance clues (no directions). The first Reverse Wherigo GC357G1 was created by Waldmeister. The basic idea is to find the final cache while being given only your distance to it. To get the current distance, you can ask the Reverse Wherigo Box in your inventory, but it won't tell you the direction - that's for you to figure out! There's no limit to how many times you can ask, but try to keep your number of guesses as low as possible. All instructions and necessary information needed to complete the cartridge are provided in the cartridge itself, which is multilingual.
When prompted you will have to input the three, six digit numbers you retrieved from the NFC tag into your player which is the initiation code.
Mission Part 3: Find the cache!
If you have successfully inputted the correct information you received from the NFC tag into the Reverse Wherigo Cartridge, it will now tell you the distance to the cache. Remember Commando, it is only available at low tide!
PLEASE ENSURE YOU REPLACE THE FINAL CONTAINER EXACTLY AS YOU FOUND IT.
