Geocache Description:

This geocache is on private property, with the consent of the owner. To get to it, park in the turnout next to the gate (enough room for 1 car or 4 bicycles), where a No Trespassing sign is posted; you won't be trespassing if you're seeking this cache. Note: Cars often drive fast on this road — be careful to pull off of it to park.

Unlatch the gate and step in; the geocache is nearby, but it is not hidden in the stone wall.  The cache is in a large container; feel free to trade items as desired.

When done, please LATCH THE GATE; this is part of a working family farm.  Sometimes there are cattle being grazed up the hill (out of sight) from the geocache.  Please don’t leave the gate open or they can get out!

Although you might spot other ways to access the area, please don’t use them (All private property). If you leave the gate open, family members of the owner who live in the immediate area will notice it and ask us to remove the geocache.

Note: In wintertime, if there is deep snow the geocache may be inaccessible because drifts could prevent you from pulling safely off the road and opening the gate.

During haying season or woodcutting season, the gate MIGHT be standing open when you arrive. In that case, leave it open as you found it, because a hay truck or wood truck will likely be coming through later on.

Please don’t park in front of the gate intending to take a long hike.

When we set this geocache we noticed that we were 152 feet above sea level which is not very impressive until you consider that you are part way up Great Meadow Hill; at 246 feet above sea level,  it is the highest point in Rehoboth, Massachusetts. Most of the rest of the terrain in Rehoboth was flattened by a glacier.

At the bottom of the hill is a picturesque family farm, founded in 1746. The original farmhouse is still occupied. The same family has been farming the property since 1818.
