During the late Qing Dynasty (Reign of Emperor Guangxu) when Taipei City was being built(1882), the rocks of Jingmian Mountain were considered as appropriate construction materials. With Keelung River at the foot of the mountain providing a very convenient waterway, the quarry soon became the main supply of construction materials. Today you still can see inclined paths which were used to move rocks, and many chiseled rocks were left here. The Qing Dynasty Quarry were announced as Taipei City historic site on May 4th in 1998. The quarry is not only a historic site but also a witness for rising of Taipei City.
There is a little rock lookout platform nearby, you can enjoy a little hike and the view of Taipei City. After enjoying the view, you can find this hidden cache as a reward. The GPS signal may be unstable here. Please look for an area with huge UPR. Next to the UPR area, you can see an interpretation board. The cache is behind the board.
