The Garrison Trail Challenge (GTC) series of caches encourage you to set and achieve fun goals as part of your geocaching adventures. You can visit the final cache location at any time to sign the log but you may not log a “found it” on geocaching.com until you have fulfilled the challenge requirements listed below.
Cache Details
The GTC cache series is hidden along the Garrison Trail in Amesbury, MA. The 1.9 paved trail is the first multi-use trail on an interstate highway bridge in Massachusetts. It connects Route 110 in Salisbury and Amesbury with the Route 113 C&J bus terminal in Newburyport. It offers scenic Merrimack River overlooks with interpretive signs featuring local history and nature. The trail is designed to support year round activities such as hiking, biking, sightseeing, and wildlife observation. The highway can be noisy but the spectacular views of the Merrimack River and surrounding area make up for it.
The cache container and the hide are the same for all the caches - a winter friendly, magnetic key holder painted gray with a rite-in-the-rain log. The difficulty rating on the cache page is for the challenge; the cache hide difficulty is a 1. All caches are wheelchair accessible.
Challenge Requirements
You must have earned at least 50 souvenirs. Souvenirs are virtual pieces of art displayed on your public profile. They can be earned by attending certain events or by visiting states and countries to name a few. Go here to see the current list of available souvenirs.
