Claudette Cain Park lies on the east bank of the Rideau River. The park is named after Claudette Cain who was the Mayor of Gloucester from 1991 – 2001. In 2001 this area was amalgamated with the City of Ottawa. The park includes paved walking trails, a soccer field, a basketball court, and a splash pad which features tall flowers. A large gazebo with picnic tables can be found there too. A look-out gives a pretty view out over the Rideau River.
Unusual for a city park, there is a small 19th Century cemetery here, named for the Moodie family. James Moodie bought 200 acres of farm land here, after immigrating to Canada from Scotland in 1840.
There are two parking lots, and the park is open daily from 0600 hrs to 2300 hrs throughout the year. Leashed dogs are welcome.
After completing the 5 lab caches of the nearby Adventure Lab (Claudette Cain Park) you will be given the coordinates of this bonus cache. Look for the coordinates at the end of the 5th Lab stage.
