Geocache Description:

Placed on the summit of Little Jackson Mountain.

From the trailhead, off Morgan Rd., the trail starts out relatively flat for the first .4 miles, at which point the Parker Ranger Trail splits off the the left, you will want to stay right on the Little Jackson Mountain Trail. From this point, the trail rises steadily for another 2.1 miles without much of a reprieve, until you reach the col between Big Jackson and Little Jackson mountains. The trail goes left towards the summit of Little Jackson. Follow the cairns, as I found the blue blazes to be faded or missing at some spots. You will be above treeline at this point, so extreme care should be taken climbing the exposed summit. It is roughly .4 miles from the col to the summit. The summit of Little Jackson is an alpine zone, so please stay on trail or do best hopping from rock to rock. The vegetation is very fragile and takes several years to recover.

The summit offers a wonderful 360 view, including looking down on Tumbledown mountain and pond. The cache is placed on the summit, to the left of the wind shelter.

Leave No Trace. Carry In, Carry Out.
