This cache was inspired by one my son's favourite books when he was just a little lad. The first was "Diary of a Wombat" by Jackie French, and the other was "Where is the Green Sheep?" by MEM Fox & Judy Horacek. Both books were sent to us by our very good friends in Australia. I must have read them at least a million times, maybe more and he could recite them by heart and knew if I missed a page.
The book goes something like this, with illustrations on each page with the appropriate sheep,
Here is the Blue Sheep, here is the Red Sheep. Here is the Bath Sheep, here is the Bed Sheep. But where is the Green Sheep?
Here is the Thin Sheep, here is the Wide Sheep. Here is the Swing Sheep, here is the Slide Sheep. But where is the Green Sheep?
Here is the Up Sheep, here is the Down Sheep. Here is the Band Sheep, here is the Clown Sheep. But where is the Green Sheep?
Here is the Sun Sheep, here is the Rain Sheep. Here is the Car Sheep, here is the Train Sheep. But where is the Green Sheep?
There's more, but I'm sure you get the picture. At the very end of the book, there's a picture of the green sheep fast asleep.
When I was contemplating placing a cache, this place seemed a natural and the story of the green sheep came flooding back to me. While you walk to GZ look around and see if you can spot the sheep that hang out on the other side of the fence from late spring to early fall.
I hope you have as much fun finding the cache as I had in placing it and that it brings a smile to your face. Next time you see a sheep, maybe you'll remember the green sheep.
Please bring a writing stick to sign the log. Watch for muggles big and small. Please be gentle with the cache and rehide as found. Log sheet is waterproof, just wipe dry if required. You will be getting a few steps (less than 1 km) on your Fitbit or Smart Watch.
