Welcome to Singapore's first Community Celebration Event, in conjunction with International Geocaching Day! While many geocachers will be celebrating the day in Seattle, those of us here who can't afford to fly halfway around the world can join in the fun through this event. We promise an evening of great food, caching, conversation and company.
About Community Celebration Events
Community Celebration Events were initially released as a special cache type to celebrate 20 years of Geocaching in 2020, but as we all know, the virus-that-shall-not-be-named created a huge mess. The date for the events have been extended to 2022, and so, here we are!
As we emerge from the pandemic, we hope to bring back some of the joy of events of the years past to both new and old cachers alike, and what better way to do so with a Community Celebration Event. So, what can you expect if you do attend?
First, there will be food - the scale of which will depend on how many geocachers turn up. We do hope that we have enough to do a proper BBQ, but if there are fewer, we'll still have food, but it'll be less elaborate.
Second, there will be games - calikura has kindly sponsored some prizes, including trackables, to be given out. We will have some caching related activities to test your skills, and details to follow
Third, and most importantly - there will be company. We look forward to meeting up with the larger community after two years of relative isolation. Both locals and visitors to our little island are welcome! You can look forward to the sharing of experiences, trading of trackables and, of course, discussions and help with that one cache that seems to elude you for whatever reason.
And... as a bonus, you will get to log a find on a rare cache type - the eponymous Community Celebration Event cache, which is a distinct category in your statistics! Not only that, you will also receive the International Geocaching Day 2022 souvenir on your profile page.

To log the cache, you simply need to turn up any time during the event's duration. You are not obligated to stay the full five hours, and if you have other plans, you need only to drop by and pen down your name. But, of course, if you can, we encourage you to hang around a while and meet the other cachers, and join in the food and fun!
If you are interested in attending the event, as always, log your "Will Attend" on this page, with the number of attendees and, if possible, how long you intend to join us for. If you'd like to offer help in any way, or have any ideas to share with us, do drop us a personal message as well. Once you log your interest, you will receive announcements and other updates to the event as we firm up the plans.
The Usual Precautions
As the pandemic is not truly over yet, do help in following these safety measures:
- Bringing and wearing a mask during the event is still strongly encouraged despite being outdoors.
- If you are unwell, or have tested positive for COVID on the day of the event, please stay home.
- Practice good personal hygiene when interacting with the other cachers.
