Please join in the fun on Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 7 pm - 9 pm at the Elks Lodge in Pittsfield, MA. We always enjoy celebrating the holidays with geocaching friends!
This event had been a favorite of geocachers for 10 years, but the COVID-19 virus ended that run last year! This year we're coming back! Things will be modified a bit in order to ensure everyone's safety and comfort level. Instead of a pot luck the Berkshire Geobash will provide individually wrapped sandwiches and chips. We are asking attendees to bring individually wrapped snacks and desserts to share. Of course, anyone who would prefer to bring their own bagged meal is welcome to. All beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) are available for purchase from the Elks bar (the Elks has been a very generous sponsor of the Berkshire Geobash since it started in 2012). All purchases are at your own expense.
When logging your "will attend" please note what individually wrapped snack or dessert you will bring to share with the group.
Masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer will be available for cachers who want them. We will adhere to the CDC's recommendations for everyone's health.
We will meet and have the opportunity to enjoy spending time with great friends (and make new friends) and geocaching chatter, lots of laughter and fun as we learn a new way to cleverly exchange gifts (a blended Yankee Swap/Grab Bag) to ensure everyone's safety. Participation in the gift exchange is totally optional - you do not have to purchase anything to attend this event. However, if you choose to participate, please bring a wrapped gift (minimum value $15 so that everyone who participates gets something of a fair value trade).
The last two years we hosted this event we added the "Ugly Sweater Contest" into the festivities and that's been a hit, so let's do that again!!! We will have a prize for the top 3 participants.
Can't wait to catch up with our caching friends from near and far as we ring in the holidays!!!
