March 13, 2019. That was the day that I found my 86th find. And I have found a cache every day since then.
I was planning on ending that streak last year. I had a whole event scheduled and everything. Then two days before the event was to happen, COVID shut everything down. And so I decided to continue.
But I'm ready to put a stop to this. There have been days that it has been difficult getting out. I don't want this fun hobby to be a chore. So December 17, 2021 is the official "End of the Streak". 1,001 days is enough. And to celebrate, I'm hosting an event at Whitetail Woods. At this event, you can enjoy:
- Cooking s'mores over a fire! I will provide indiually-wrapped bags of graham crackers, chocolates, and marshmallows. If you have your own special ingredient that you like to add to yours, bring it with.
- Door Prizes! I'll bring an assortment of goodies. And getting qualified will be easy. As long as you have no problem getting your picture taken..
- Get a Selfie! Taking a selfie with me is all you need to do to get qualified for the drawing!
- Revel in the ever-changing Minnesota December Weather! Make sure you are properly bundled up for the possibility of snow! Or maybe it'll be warm enough for shorts and t-shirts? Either way, be prepared to hang out outside!
- Enjoy a weather-appropriate beverage! Could be hot chocolate! Could be cold milk! Could be water! Could be something else!
- Experience one of the best parks around to geocache! Whitetail Woods has some of my all-time favorite gadget caches in it! I'll make sure to bring along a couple 9-volt batteries in case you forgot yours!
