Geocache Description:

Čezsoča is a small village located in the southern part of the Bovec basin, below the slopes of Polovnik. It lies on the left bank of the Soča River and is about three kilometers away from the famous tourist center Bovec. The village can be accessed from several directions, the most important of which are road accesses from the village of Žaga and from the direction of Bovec. Čezsoča is divided into three parts, which are Dolenji, Srednji and Gorenji kraj. Čezsoča was first mentioned in written sources in 1540. In the village, traditional Presoča houses have been preserved, which are characterized by stone entrance stairs, an open corridor, a kitchen with a high fireplace and a boiler room, a room with a wide double bed, a separate entrance from behind. where there was also a toilet and the rest. In the whole of Bovec, only this village had special deep wells called wells, from which water was raised with the help of a bucket. In the center of the settlement is the relief of the front in the First World War. At that time, Čezsoča was completely demolished, but the Italians rebuilt it. The place has been hosting a fun-ethnological event of the Peasant Game since July 1985. The village offers many opportunities for experiences, such as a kayak school on the Soča River, a visit to the Valley of the Dwarves, guided activities on the Soča River, renting a picnic area, a family cycling trip on the left bank of the Soča River to the Čežsoški Log, summer refreshment - natural water pool stream Slatenik, which originates 1200 meters high and another. In the immediate vicinity of Čezsoča are the hamlets of Vodenca and Jablenca. Vodenca is located at the confluence of the Soča and Koritnica rivers and is known mainly among camping enthusiasts.
