Your assignment is to find this cache and sign the log book, which can be found on the Tawa Loop track. You can start your mission from the car park at the Ashhurst end of the gorge. The loop can be completed in either direction and is listed at about a 2hr walk, although that's pretty generous timing. The cache itself is about 30-40 minutes up if you continue straight past the paths junction. However, there are lots of good caches on this loop so you'll probably want to do the whole track.
The GPS was jumping around a little when we placed this, so we had a little trouble pin pointing the exact GZ, but the clue and spoiler image should get you there anyway. Look for a partially hollowed out tree trunk, with a ponga log and rock in front of it - right hand side of the track as you walk up hill. we also put a small piece of blue tape on a low branch.
Please remember, this is a very popular track, so please use your secret squirrel stealth mode when exiting, searching for the cache and re entering the track. You can usually here people coming, so have a listen first!

There can be issue's with cars being broken into, in this carpark, despite so many people coming and going. We returned from placing this cache to find our car window had been smashed and things stolen
