Capel (the hat): follow this sign along the smugglers' path
From the beginning of the nineteenth century and for a good part of the twentieth, smuggling was an important source of income for the inhabitants of Bregaglia and Engadina. A wide range of goods were smuggled, especially food and beverages, which made it possible to do good business and thus make life more comfortable in the Alpine valleys that were once very poor. The reasons for smuggling were varied, including lack of certain goods on one side and abundance on the other. High customs duties, different legislations imposed by local lords and states, prohibitions and sanctions encouraged the clandestine crossing of the border.

This easy multi, along the path created to introduce children to the phenomenon of smuggling, will take you to Lägh da Bitabergh (see also GC64TQ7) where the cache is hidden. Panels are written in Italian and German.
If you are with children try to check the condition of the treasure at the smugglers' hideout. In two adults one can stay with them at the lake while the other can reach the hiding place indicated by the waypoint. Personally two times of two I have found the treasure chest muggled so, in my opinion, it is best to check so that the children will not be disappointed.
Once you have satisfied their search for the smugglers' treasure you can go and look for the final of the multi which is nearby.
The cache box is halfway between small and regular size and contains some swags for children.
