The road from Bridge of Orchy down to the main A85 is a fabulous drive or cycle. Close to the tumbling River Orchy for most of the time, you can see why it's so popular with campers - and in the main they camp respectfully. About 12 miles down the road you reach the Falls of Orchy (Gaelic: Eas Urchaidh) with a large car-park on the eastern side of the road. A footbridge allows you to see the falls up close and it's a really wonderful sight. Maps say that Eas Urchaidh is a Nature reserve, but I haven't yet discovered that bit. It's worth taking the road as a short-cut from Bridge of Orchy in the Oban direction; give yourself time to enjoy it!
The cache is a small screw-top, bison tube fixed with a split-ring.....it's almost an easy drive-by except for the risk of muggles also enjoying the falls.
Well done to bloater40 for being the FTF - and to LVT for being STF by ten minutes!
I AM WONDERING IF THERE A CACHER LOCAL TO THE AREA WHO WOULD BE PREPARED TO ADOPT THIS CACHE FOR ME... IF SO, PLEASE DO GET IN TOUCH.
