Geocache Description:

A 2-stage multi cache following the 1km circuit around the stream at Hurst Wood in an anti-clockwise direction. The cache is filled with goodies for the children so remember to bring your swag to swap!

You will find a noticeboard at the published co-ordinates.

STAGE 1

Board appears to be missing at the moment so there is a photo of it in the gallery to help you solve the next stage. I have also added an alternative way to solve if you do not have a smart phone to view the photos.

1. Use the information on the board to solve the following:

N50 52.ABA    W001 0B.BEC

A = Which month were the footbridge and connecting paths opened?

BCDE = In which year were the footbridge and connecting paths opened?

OR

2.

A = How many letters altogether in the name on the nearby railings?

B = How many white rubber stoppers are on the gate?

C = How many vertical metal spindles are on the gate?

E = C-B

DO NOT cross the bridge at this stage, instead follow the tarmac path to the cycle path sign and take the left fork around the stream. Follow your GPS to the next stage.

To check you have the correct solution for the next stage, the sum of all 15 digits in the co-ordinates should equal 47.

STAGE 2

To find the final cache you will need to use the information to solve the following:

N50 52.G (H)   W001 0K.(J+H) G K

How many?

G = Holly Berries + Butterflies

H = Hedgehogs

J = Birds (count them carefully)

K = Blackberries

To check you have the correct solution for the final, the sum of all 15 digits is also 47.
