This is the accompanying bonus physical cache for my Historic Hereford Adventure Lab. A quick tour of only about a mile of some historic places in Hereford.
If I'm honest I could do a dozen of these hereabouts and still not cover half of the historic sites in this area where the old town was! So this is just a scratching-the-surface kind of tour as these adventure labs are limited to only 5 spots.
The old town was bordered south by the river, west where the A49 new bridge now runs and to the north and east by where the A438 now runs. The whole town was surrounded by city walls, ramparts and ditches, some remnants of which still remain if you look carefully (although not on this tour as I didn't want to take you that far).
As mentioned this walk is only just over a mile, is fairly flat really and should only take about an hour. The start point is a council car park (about £1 or so per hour at the time of writing) outside the swimming pool and you will walk in a clockwise direction. You need to do the points of interest in order.
Once you have completed the Adventure Lab use the numbers collected in the formula below to find the whereabouts of the cache.
